Bennet Woodward is founder and owner of 1872 Sports Management. Bennet oversees go-to-market functions, athlete recruitment & representation, marketing partnerships and operations. For the last 18+ years he has also served as sales professional and vice president at various startup software organizations, ear marked by being a part of several acquisitions and an IPO.

As a former basketball coach, Bennet has a longstanding passion for teaching and mentoring athletes. Bennet holds a BA in International Business from Dominican University of California, where he was a member of the basketball team.

Ian Barney
Ian M. Barney is a founding partner of Barney Hammond LLP and is licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of Illinois. A lifelong Chicagoan, Ian attended Loyola University Chicago for his undergraduate degree where he also played on Loyola's men’s basketball team. He was admitted to practice law after graduating with honors from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While at Loyola Law, he was awarded the President's Medallion – the school's highest honor –for his outstanding scholarship, leadership, and service, and the Illinois State Bar Association's Public Service Award.
Recognizing the changing legal landscape in college athletics, Ian now heads a practice area at his firm dedicated to advising individuals and companies on legal issues related to college athlete compensation, eligibility, and compliance. Developing this area of practice has allowed Ian to bring to bear his legal expertise and passion for sports to help meet and solve the many challenges faced by college athletes.
